Coral Starter Pack: Setup Guide

Updated: Mar 4

Welcome to your coral setup guide! This guide will help you with adding your new corals to your aquarium. We recommend watching the setup video above to get started.

Please Note: This is an example video only, so there may be small variations between the packaging and corals in the video compared to the ones you receive. This is totally normal! No two coral frags are the same, and we make sure to prioritize the health of your corals when they arrive to you.

What’s in Your Box?

  • 2 Zoanthid frags (color may vary)

  • 1 Mushroom coral

  • 1 Green Star Polyp (GSP)

  • 1 Firework Clove Polyp

  • 1 Bag of clean saltwater

Step 1: Unbox and Prep

  1. Open the box carefully and inspect each coral bag.

  2. Make sure your aquarium is at proper temperature (74-80°) and running with light and flow.

Step 2: Add Saltwater

  • Use the included bag of saltwater to add to your tank to ensure proper water parameters. Make sure to leave some room for extra water as you add the corals.

Step 3: Adding Your Corals

Your corals are already pre-dipped and ready to go:

  1. Open each coral bag and gently pour the contents (part of the water and coral) into your tank. Try not to over-fill.

Step 5: Basic Care for the First Week

  • Lighting: Turn your LED on for 6–8 hour light cycles.

  • Flow: Gentle movement is ideal; avoid blasting direct flow (You can adjust the slider on your pump if needed to turn up or down).

  • No feeding needed: Corals get what they need from light and the water. You may add Benepets or other coral foods after they become established.

  • Not opening up? This is normal! It can take a few days for your corals to adjust to their new environment. If you have any questions about your corals, feel free to reach out to Oceanic Gardens.
